Canadian Food Inspection Agency issues alert for:
Mo'Steak Veggie Steak

OTTAWA (CP) The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Momo's Veggie Kitchen Limited are warning people with allergies to wheat not to consume MVK "Gluten Free" Mo'Steak Veggie Steak. The affected product may contain wheat which is not declared on the label. This alert is of concern to those individuals who have allergies to wheat. The affected product, MVK "Gluten Free" Mo'Steak Veggie Steak, is sold in a 180-gram package bearing a UPC 6 88502 10090 1 and a Best Before date of 15DEC04. The manufacturer, Momo's Veggie Kitchen Limited, of Richmond, B.C., is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The affected product has been distributed in British Columbia and Alberta. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to wheat. Therehave been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall. CP 0333ES 18-09-04
