Hartford Gardens
The Hartford Gardens are named in honour of Janet Hartford who was one of the founding members of the Garden Club and who embodies the meaning of community in all that she has done and does in all the years of Tumbler Ridge's existence.  The garden was created and planted in 2003 and it is an ongoing project.  We provide the plants and plant them, weed and water each year.  Some donations and other items have been added.  The eagle was carved by Rob McCallum, 242-3219, the base of the eagle by Garret Golhof, the benches made by Garret Golhof, 242,2355, donated by Dr. Charles Helm, willow basket was made and donated by Evelyn Sankovic, 242-3400 and the picnic table is from the town.  Public works does a great job of mowing the grass and clipping the edges.  The shed that public works built is especially good for our hoses and equipment.

The Hartford Gardens were dedicated July 23, 2005.  Present were Mayor Clay Iles, the Honourable Jay Hill, Dr. Charles Helm, Brian Bray and his band, the TR Choral Society, many of the Tumbler Ridge Garden Club and about 80 residents of Tumbler Ridge.  It was a wonderful day.
