Ski touring

Many of the summer hiking destinations become great ski touring once the snow flies. Large alpine areas provide a variety of experiences, from easy tours to rugged ski mountaineering. Spring is the best time for tours, with longer days and settled corn snow. The knowledge and equipment to travel safely in avalanche terrain is essential.
